Our Youth Fellowship Program offers a variety of ways for youth to grow spiritually as individuals and as a group, and to find ways to serve in the church and the community.
- Club 56 for 5th and 6th Graders: This is a new addition to our Youth Ministry for 2010-2011. Ellen Harrison will coordinate outings, events, and parent volunteers for this group which will meet every 6 - 8 weeks.
- YEPOGs (Young Energetic People of God) for 7th and 9th grade youth meet the 2nd and 4th Sunday evenings of the month at 6:00 p.m., beginning with dinner which is followed by activities, programs or outings. Alana Miller and Brian and Gina Phelps are once again our adult volunteers for this group.
- UBs (Upward Bound) is for 9th through 12th grade youth. This group also meets at 6:00 p.m. every 2nd and 4th Sunday evening of the month. Leaders for this group this year are Lewis and Emily Burkholder (and new baby Jacob) and Laura Holbrook. The high school group enjoys dinner with the middle school group before going off to their respective activities, programs, and/or outings.
Another new program at MPC is our Disciple Bible Study for High School Youth. This group meets on the 1st and 3rd Sunday evenings of the month (Sundays when Youth Fellowship Groups do not meet) at 6:30 p.m. This study helps familiarize youth with God's Word and aids in applying it to their everyday lives. Tim Miller leads this study which requires registration at the beginning of the school year.
Youth Mission Trips - Each year our youth participate in a mission trip. In 2010, middle school youth and their leaders traveled to Myrtle Beach, SC. They worked with TeamEffort on construction projects for individuals needing special assistance with housing. High school youth along with 2 adult chaperones traveled to Baja California, Mexico to participate in a mission project sponsored by YWAM (Youth with a Mission). They constructed and furnished a home for an extended family and participated in outreaches such as visiting an orphange and a rehabilitation facility and taking gift baskets of food to impoverished families in Vicente Guerrero, Mexico.
